Synopsis:

"Despair not of Allah’s mercy. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins - for, verily, He alone is the Most-Forgiving, Most Merciful!” (Qur'an 39:53)

The relationship a child has with their parents often determines the child’s perception of their Lord. If a child grows up with a parent who is harsh or neglectful, then that is what the child will see Allah (SWT) as. However, if a child’s parent shows them compassion and love, then the child will see Allah (SWT) too as merciful and caring.

With that being said, it is important to teach our children about the mercy and love Allah (SWT) has for all of us. Of Allah’s (SWT) 99 attributes, the two attributes that appear the most in the noble Qur’an are Ar-Rahman (The Most Compassionate) and Ar-Raheem (The Most Merciful).

Furthermore, there are also many references and stories in the Qur’an and authentic hadiths about Allah’s (SWT) mercy and love, and it’s our responsibility as parents to bring focus to this.

In this book, we showcase Allah’s (SWT) love for us. In the first story, “Pursuing Peaches,” Asad learns that when we show love and compassion to other creations of Allah (SWT), then Allah’s (SWT) love and compassion for us increases.

In the second story, “Mountains of Mercy,” Shireen discovers that no matter what mistakes we make in life, Allah’s (SWT) Divine Mercy will never be extinguished.

By teaching our children about Allah’s (SWT) mercy, we foster a deep and loving connection with our Creator, and, at the same time, inspire them to show compassion to other people.
