Did Santa Forget About Me is a beautifully illustrated story about a young Muslim girl who wonders why Santa Claus never visits her. She rejoices in her identity, celebrates diversity and recognizes different holidays while treasuring and appreciating her own. It is the day before Christmas break and many of her classmates are excited about Christmas. She goes home and asks her parents why Santa doesn’t love her. They reply even though they don’t celebrate Christmas they get to enjoy the time with family and friends. Her mom also reminds her she has other friends who also don’t celebrate Christmas, but that they celebrate Hanukkah and Diwali instead. Lastly, they point out to her that they celebrate two holidays Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha, and describe their beautiful holiday traditions.
